My favorite story of all time is of course my monster of a Silverflint mod au/novel. My pinned post gives a more thorough summary of this extravaganza, but basically: Silver and Flint meet back up at a holiday party a year-ish after a devastating break up and the cycle of heartache and desperate unhealthy codependency begins again.

This took over a year of my life to write, it nearly fuckin killed me lol. it's my greatest accomplishment. Complete with two interlocking timelines, alternating POV, a shitton of introspective kinky porn, doing the hardest parts of original fiction and fanfiction at the same time, and writing an ambiguous ending that feels the way that canon does.

and I nailed it imo. please enjoy the pride of my life (so far!)

Funny, sweet, and sad all at the same time. Mine and @brinnanza's baker Flint and guitarist Silver rom com, complete with an INTENSIVE beat for beat structure that like, god I’m so fucking proud of and was def the precursor for learning how to write Break Up AU.

I love this verse intensely, it holds a special place in my heart. It's basically the only time the boys get a happy ending :P

This might actually be the piece I’m most proud of from a canon Silver character study angle. I really crawled deep into his head for this (derogatory). It was also VERY VERY difficult technically/structurally. Got to explore the Howell-Silver dynamic the way I always wanted while executing the hanahaki trope in… a very Silver-y way. 

This is not for the faint of heart lol.

Yeah I'm still putting this one. This may be the most deeply personal piece I've written to date. In many ways it's my fucking heart and soul. A character study and a writing exercise, just one potential “what happened to Silver,” by no means a definitive take since that doesn’t exist. But I wrote this to get into his head more, or to have him get into mine maybe lmao, to fully embrace and understand him as a character as much as possible. It was hard, excessively researched, gave me fits, and was fucking PAINFUL EMOTIONALLY lol but I love it to pieces.

I talk a lot about John fucking Silver around here, but this story is a full on thorough Captain James Flint brain swizzling. I'm so proud of this character study of Flint as shown through magic freak lactation. Yep you read that right! I made it work and it's fucking brilliant if I do say so myself. Featuring Silverflint becoming partners through strife much earlier, humor, reveling in joyous sensation, and Big Flint Gender Feels.

Oh also, it's really REALLY hot.

What do you think Long Jon Sliver's past was in your Disneyverse?

So! I sat on this for a while, but I finally have some ideas thanks to coming across some more concept art of Treasure Planet 2 as well as an interview about the plot that had some more details about Silver's background in it.

So when I first saw the sketches of Kate Blake, the girl from the canceled Treasure Planet sequal I thought she was Silver's estranged daughter or something, as she had similar features. Of course further digging revealed she was the daughter of Admiral Blake. But I decided I could still tie Silver in to her backstory somewhat after coming across this concept art that shows a young Silver heading off into the Aetherium...

I decided that in my backstory for him, he was in love with an upperclass girl and she him, but he deciedhe needed to go off and make something of himself to be worthy of her, even though she just wanted him to stay

She waited for him, but he never did come back, and she ended up marrying Kate's father and having her with him.

So Silver seeing Kate with Jim later would see the daughter he could have had.

Silver traveled about as a merchant mariner for a whkle, but ended up getting in pirating eventually as it. seemed a faster way to raise his fortunes. But he got in too deep when he took up with Captain Ironbeard (the villain of the canceled sequal, who it would have been revealed was responsible for some of Silver's lost limbs).

Eventually of course he got a crew of his own and determined to go after the legendary treasure of Captain Flint, the one prize he felt could make all his losses worth it.

And of course we all know how that panned out.

Apparently in the sequal Jim and Kate were going to find Silver running a fish shop on a backwater planet somewhere--which was really the front for his smuggling operation.

As the Long John Silver of the book had a wife who helped run his inn on land, I thought in my DisneyVerse I'd give him a business partner in his smuggling operation who would keep him on track, balance out his impetuousness, and eventually become a new love interest for him, since he lost his chance with Kate's mother.

Complaining abt Suicide Squad yet again but the fact that they have Waller exposing the alien community to space racist attacks and talking abt how she got to her position through deceit and being a terrible person and stuff is just. Ahsfiwueh JUST SAY YOU DONT KNOW WALLER.

Anyways literally the 3rd mission of the Squad ever (and the first framed as smth Waller picked and not orders from above) was the Squad discrediting and stopping a rogue vigilante who was only arresting POC and funneling white people into white supremacy groups (of which he was the most prominent member) in SUICIDE SQUAD #4. and it's explicitly framed as this mission being personal for Waller that she's hiding from the government bc its illegal like. Guys. Please why are we having her incite (space bc comics) racist attacks now

Also the whole "Amanda got her position through deceit and being a terrible person" NO. she KEPT her position through being shitty and playing complicated political games!!! She wasn't always that way like there is a difference and it is IMPORTANT ppl PLEASEEEE. In Secret Origins #14 we learn Amanda's backstory and she used to be a normal, caring person! Like even after she entered into working in government and politics she wasn't automatically morally bankrupt like please people. She was originally given control of the Squad by Reagan (*sigh* 80s comics...) to distract and get rid of her because she was so successful at pushing progressive social policy in Congress. Acting like she's this static pillar of evil is such a waste of her character and so fucking uninteresting and disrespectful to her arc it drives me MAD.

Like I am NOT saying Waller is all sunshine and rainbows, she fucking SUCKS (said w love <3) but like there's a human being there. It's a progression, she has a character arc like please, DC, please!!! They've fucked up Waller so bad and made her so opaque and uninteresting she can't even be the protagonist of her own story for fucks sake!

Like I don't know how many times I have to scream it until DC hears me or remembers but WALLER IS THE MAIN CHARACTER OF SUICIDE SQUAD. ITS HER BOOK. yet right now she's a cutout to be used as the villain wherever the writers please. Even in her book we get none of her perspective really displayed, no exploration of her thoughts with any kind of understanding of the role she traditionally has played and was made to play in the story.

silver is capable of survival in the worst possible conditions. and hes so bad at socializing. guy whos already autistic and was also isolated for 14 years means that he is STRUGGLING

I’ve always found it very annoying how despite his big accomplishments, Silver in the comics is always treated as a kid that doesn’t know what he’s doing.

In Archie it’s more understandable because in that series he really is just a kid sent out on missions that he’s honestly not qualified for(he’s even 3-4 years younger than most heroes in Archie) but game canon Silver somehow not being considered a “soldier” after fighting through both the Iblis apocalypse his whole life AND the war in Sonic Forces is just fucking ridiculous. And wasn’t Lanolin just a civilian at the start of IDW? There’s no way she’s more trained or experienced than Silver at all.

Silver is naive but he’s not inexperienced, untrained or unskilled. He’s just kinda ignorant and thinks in black and white. The reason why he was sent to kill Sonic by himself (and would have succeeded twice had Amy and Shadow not gotten in the way) is because he is capable. Silver is just as capable as Blaze, Jet and Sonic’s other rivals. Being young and from the apocalypse doesn’t make him incompetent, you can see how capable he is if you actually pay attention what he’s capable of in 06 and Rivals and know that he’s only gotten better since then.

And others he's just a playable character for multi-player mode or he's barely in it at all. Justice for silver please he deserves so much better!! Like no shows with him in it at all either? It confuses me so much.

started reading this one and there's only 11 eps out but it's really cute so far i like it... clicked on it bc the art looked rly good and IT IS i like the art style a lot and it's v well drawn... its also funny and i like the mc a lot shes cute?? obv 11 eps isnt enough to say much abt where the story will go but im enjoying it so far at least 👀... it feels like im watching a cute lighthearted anime haha..
